Technology firm LinguaNext is in discussions with nationalised and private banks for deploying its solutions at ATMs (automated teller machines), which will help users get transaction details in local languages.
The Pune-based firm LinguaNext offers application language management solutions and is already working with different banks, including the State Bank of India.
"We are in active discussions with various banks. These are at different stages, some we are carrying out proof of concept and with some, we are in commercial discussions. We expect some of these to materialise before the end of the year," LinguaNext CEO Jagdish Sahasrabudhe told PTI.
Using our solutions, ATMs will be able to offer transaction slips in local languages to the customers, he added.
Currently, ATMs generate receipts in English, though there is an option of doing transactions in Hindi.
Linguanext is also betting big on the burgeoning e-commerce market in India to fuel its growth. It is working with players like Yepme and Quikr to offer mobile apps in Hindi and other Indian languages.
"India has a host of multiple regional languages and there is a huge market potential for a product that transforms any mobile application for use in any local language. Our Linguify.Mobile platform transforms mobile apps in various Indian languages, with no application performance loss, and without changing or accessing the underlying source code," he said.
This results in saving the hassle for customers to download one app again and again for other language preference, by providing a single integrated app for multiple languages, he added.
Quikr.Com AVP and Head of Sales Krishna Iyer said using the platform has helped the company offer an app that allows users to choose between English and Hindi as medium for communication.
"We are seeing significant user adoption through our mobile apps. We feel making Quikr available in regional languages is important to help more users meet their local commerce needs. We will soon add other Indian languages too as we multiply our user base," he added.
