Liquor worth Rs 12.50 lakh seized in MP

Police have seized over 500 boxes containing Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) liquor that was being smuggled to neighbouring Gujarat.
The consignment of 520 boxes, containing IMFL bottles worth Rs 12.50 lakh, was seized during a routine checking at Segoan village on Khandwa-Baroda state Highway last night, Alirajpur Superintendent of Police, Kumar Saurabh said.
A Sports Utility Vehicle and a truck carrying the boxes were confiscated, he said, adding, three locals -- Surbhan Singh (34), Nilesh Verma (28) and Sukhram (30) -- have been booked in this connection under Excise Act.
Singh and Verma have been arrested, while search is on to nab Sukhram, the officer added.
