Police seized 34 cartons of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 15 lakh during a raid on Saturday in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district.
Sale and consumption of liquor are completely banned in the state since April, 2016.
Acting on a tip-off that liquor bottles were unloaded at a place near Kolhua under Ahiyapur police station, a police team raided the spot and seized 34 cartons of IMFL bottles worth Rs 15 lakh, Ahiyapur police station SHO Manoj Kumar said.
The team also seized a motorcycle during the raid, he added.
All those involved in the illicit liquor trade fled the scene on seeing the police, the SHO said.
He added that the liquor mafiosos have been identified and police are conducting raids to nab them.
