A little-known start-up Heckyl Technology today claimed it has rewarded its four employees with premium cars, days after realty portal Housing.Com chief Rahul Yadav grabbed headlines by distributing his personal shares among the staff members.
The city-based Heckyl said it has gifted four of its top performing employees two Hyundai Accents and two i-10 Grandes. The company issued a press release to announce the 'reward', along with photographs.
Started in 2010, Heckyl provides financial data to global clients and has 23 employees and claims to have clients like ICICI Securities, Reliance Securities, India Infoline and Edelweiss among others. It also claims to have an overseas office in Britain.
Incidentally, a diamond export company Hari Krishna Exports had also announced a headline-grabbing 'Diwali bonus' to its employees last year by doling out cars, jewellery and apartments worth Rs 50 crore.
But the group yesterday found itself in the middle of a controversy over a Muslim youth being denied a job on the basis of his religion, which has been blamed by the company on a 'trainee' HR personnel. The Mumbai police has registered a case in the matter.
Earlier this month, realty start-up Housing.Com founder and CEO Rahul Yadav had announced giving away "all his personal shares worth Rs 150-200 crore to the 2,251 employees of the company".
"I'm just 26 and it's too early in life to get serious about money, etc." Yadav had said in a statement.
