Local jeweller booked for rape

A case of rape was registered against a city jeweller after a local court today directed police to probe the matter on the complaint filed by a 28-year-old girl.
According to police, the girl has alleged that she was lured by the local jeweller who took her to a few hotels in Jaipur where she was raped in last two-three months this year.
The victim girl moved an 'istgasa' (complaint) in a local court that asked the Murlipura police station to lodge the FIR yesterday, police said.
Accused Pradeep Goyal was running a small jewellery shop in Kishanpol Bazar here where the girl used to visit him frequently, and subsequently for local sightseeing the accused took her to a few hotels around Jaipur, police said quoting the FIR.

The girl further accused Pradeep, separated from his wife, of making a video clip with the intent to blackmail her, the police said.
A case under various sections of IPC including 376 (rape) was lodged against the accused. Investigation would begin now, and victim would be called for recording statement, they said.
