Locals demand closure of Nagarjuna plant following mishap

A sit-in was also held at the main gate of the plant, where 17 workers were injured in yesterday's fire.

Traffic was also disrupted for over two hours, police said.

District Collector G Venkatram Reddy ordered an enquiry by Additional Joint Collector Rajkumar into the mishap and directed the Inspector of Factories to take steps for closure of the factory under the provisions of Factories Act, official sources said.

Seventeen workers were injured when two reactors blew up at Nagarjuna Agrichem Limited (NACL) plant in the district's Chilakapalem village.
