Lindsay Lohan made headlines in the early 2000s for substance abuse, jail time and rehab stints and now her parents say they were "responsible" for the path their daughter chose.
Michael and Dina Lohan opened up about the former child star's battle with addiction in an upcoming episode of "Steve Harvey", during which they were asked if they feel responsible for Lohan's drug use, reported In Touch Weekly.
"I think when she was little she saw most of the abuse, so Lindsay did witness a lot - so I absolutely do think it takes its toll on children," Dina explainde.
Michael chimes in, adding, "Inevitably, we are responsible for the path that Lindsay took. Our divorce, because of our relationship, affected Lindsay to the point that she drowned her sorrows and numbed her pain."
"It breaks my heart to think that she suffered because of the way I acted," he added.
