A look out circular was issued Thursday against suspended DYSP B Harikumar, booked on murder charges after he allegedly pushed a 32-year old man in front of a moving car, leading to his death near here, police said.
Sanal was killed on November 5 after he was pushed in front of the car allegedly by the Deputy Superintendent of Police after a scuffle over parking the vehicle at Neyyatinkara.
A case under IPC section 302 (murder) was registered against Harikmar and he was suspended after the incident.
Since the DYSP remained absconding even three days after the incident, the look out circular had been issued, police said.
Police said two of its civil officers were suspended Thursday for "gross negligence" on their part in taking Sanal to hospital after the incident.
Action was taken on the basis of a special branch report, which said the incident happened at 9.30 PM and the ambulance reached the medical college hospital only about two hours later.
It said the ambulance was taken to the police station as the officer on duty had to change his shift.
Meanwhile, the suspended police officer has moved a court here seeking anticipatory bail.
Trouble broke out on Monday night after Harikumar asked Sanal to move his car which he had parked on the side of the road.
A scuffle ensued during which the official allegedly pushed Sanal in front of a moving car. He sustained severe injuries and died later at the hospital.
A large number of people had blocked the road where the incident occurred and demanded the DYSP's arrest.
