The North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association-organised conference at the Manipur Legislative Assembly premises will conclude on June 18.
According to a Lok Sabha Secretariat statement, presiding officers and members of legislatures of northeastern states will deliberate on the Northeast and the government's 'Look East Policy', special plan for development of railways, airways, surface road and inland waterways connectivity for speedy economic development of the region.
There will also be discussions on the setting up of a chapter of the speaker's research initiative (SRI) in the region.
Mondal is also the chairman of the North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
Manipur's deputy chief minister Y Joykumar Singh will also address the inaugural session.
Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla will address the delegates on June 16.
