LS Speaker to visit New York

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will be visiting New York to attend the tenth annual meeting of Women Speakers of Parliament and the fourth world conference of Speakers of Parliament to be held between August 29 and September 2.
Discussions will be held on themes like more gender inclusive decision-making processes and bodies in democracy, innovations to end violence against women and harmful practices, in particular in conflict situations and efforts for financing for gender equality in development during the meeting.
Mahajan will also make a presentation on "Development: Innovating for financing for gender equality " during the meeting.
Secretary General, Lok Sabha, Anoop Mishra will be accompanying the Speaker.

The fourth meeting of Preparatory Committee of the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in which India is a member will also take place, which will be attended by Majahan.
Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha P J Kurien will also attend the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament to be held from August 31st to September 2.
Secretary General, Rajya Sabha , Shumsher K Sheriff will be accompanying Kurien.
