Lt. Gen. Saranjeet Singh takes command of White Knight Corps

Lt. Gen. Saranjeet Singh, who commanded a brigade and a division in the Jammu region, today took charge of the elite White Knight Corps in Jammu and Kashmir.
The corps looks after the operational area in the south of Pirpanchal.
"Lt. Gen. Saranjeet Singh assumed command of the elite White Knight Corps from Lt. Gen. A K Sharma today", an army officer said here.
In his farewell message, Sharma complimented all ranks of the corps for their professionalism and dedication.
Singh was commissioned in 1981 into the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment, and is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, the Army War College and the National Defence College, he said.
The officer said that Singh was well versed with the terrain and existing operational dynamics of the area as he commanded a brigade and a division in this region.
Singh has also held various operational and staff appointments in field formations and has also had tenures in Perspective Planning Directorate and Military Operations Directorate at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), he said.
He has been an instructor at the NDA, the Army War College and a team leader at that Army Training Team in Botswana.
Before taking charge of the corps, Singh was chief of staff at the South Western Command, the officer said.
On assuming command of the corps, he asked all ranks to continue working with the same enthusiasm and always be combat ready to thwart the nefarious designs of enemy, he said.
