The Rs 250-crore facility will be used to manufacture Mahindra's new small commercial vehicle, P601, which is scheduled to be launched in the first half of the fiscal, M&M Executive Director Pawan Goenka said.
"The extended manufacturing facility for the automotive plant has been set up with an investment of approximately Rs 250 crore and an installed capacity of 92,000 new vehicles per annum, which can be scaled up further to meet additional demand. The current production capacity of Zaheerabad plant is 75,000 vehicles per annum," he added.
Besides Zaheerabad, M&M has five automotive manufacturing plants in Mumbai, Chakan, Nashik, Igatpuri and Haridwar.
