Madgao station turned into a 'platform' for live music show

Railway stations in the country are generally associated with chaos, crowd and too much noise but Madgao in Goa presented a different picture as passengers waiting for their trains were treated to melodious music by a band comprising employees of Konkan Railway.
Last Saturday and Sunday, the passengers waiting to board Madgao-Mumbai Konkan Kanya Express, which leaves at 6 pm, were in for a pleasant surprise when the music band, 'Aarohi', performed live for them.
The band consists of enthusiastic Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) employees who work at different positions -- from station master to pointsman.
"They played instrumental music for the passengers who were waiting for the departure of Konkan Kanya Express," KRCL Public Relations Manager Baban Ghatge told PTI today.

'Aarohi', in the past, has performed at important events of KRCL like its Foundation Day.
Madgao is an important station on the KRCL route located in South Goa, around 35km from here.
Ghatge said private bands can also play live music for the passengers at the station.
