On receiving complaints that the official, Manik Dutta, asked minor girls to engage in sexual activities with him, the CWC lodged an FIR and the accused was arrested yesterday.
Dutta, who was booked under Section 354 IPC read with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, was sent to jail by a local court today.
'Senhatirthaa' is a home since 2012 for school drop-outs, street children and rescued child labourers with facilities to house 10 children from Jorhat and Sivasagar districts.
