Verma who was transferred recently to Crime Branch from the post of DCP, North Delhi, will discharge the important role of PRO of the national capital's police force besides his duties at Crime Branch.
A statement by Delhi Police stated he will work in "close supervision" of chief spokesperson of the force Deependra Pathak.
Pathak who was Joint Commissioner (southwest range) was appointed as spokesperson of Delhi Police last year. He has now been promoted as Special Commissioner (operations).
The post of Delhi Police PRO was lying vacant after full DCP Rajan Bhagat was transferred following a decade-long stint in December last year. Later, DCP (headquarters) Rajiv Ranjan occupied the post.
