A bandh was observed in North Maharashtra's Nandurbar town today in protest of the transfer of district collector Omprakash Bokaria.
Shops and hotels remained closed.
Boakaria, who was made collector of Nandurbar district 14 months ago, has been transferred as Jalna district collector.
His work for reaching benefits of welfare schemes to the tribals had been well-appreciated.
Various social organisations protested his sudden transfer.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer of Jalna zilla parishad B Radhakrishna has been transfered as collector of Nashik, replacing Vilas Patil who had taken charge here one and a half year ago.
