To promote exchange of new and easy methods of teaching, the Maharashtra government will be holding a five day 'Shikshan Wari' (education pilgrimage) at Balewadi near Pune between January 27 to 31.
Talking to reporters here today, Minister for School Education Vinod Tawde said the aim is to let teachers, students and educationists alike familiarise with new innovative teaching techniques devised by school teachers across the state.
"The government has selected select 50 teachers from government and zilla parishad schools who will put up their stalls at the venue showcasing their new teaching techniques for the benefit of students and teachers as well," he said.
"Every day, the session will culminate with a question and answer session," Tawde added.
The minister said models on new teaching techniques like e-learning, digital schools, education related websites, apps and blogs developed by schools will be on show.
"The government will also ensure that the issues of gender sensitivity are also addressed while devising mathematical sums," he said.
Tawde further said that government will ask neighbouring states to let teachers in schools in border areas train students in their native language.
Replying to questions over the paper leak in TET exams, he said that Principal Secretary Nandkumar had in his report recommended re-examination of Paper One. He also had recommended divesting the charge of those involved and investigate the matter.
When asked to comment upon the permission of the organisers to invite noted Pakistani Ghazal Singer Ghulam Ali for the release of a CD 'Ghar Wapsi', he said, "the government will have to ascertain the motive of the organisers whether it was for political or cultural purposes."
He added that it was not his prerogative to decide on the matter as it was related to the Home ministry.
