Maha Oppn leader demands ban on tobacco, writes to CM
Press Trust of India Mumbai Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde today met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded a ban on tobacco.
Munde met the chief minister and submitted a letter to him.
Maharashtra has a large number of cancer patients and tobacco consumption is the chief cause in many of the cancer cases, he said, adding, Maharashtra government should impose a ban on tobacco.
Due to availability of tobacco near schools and colleges, there is a danger of the young generation falling prey to tobacco menace, he added.
