The girls started complaining of stomach pain and vomiting after eating their meals last night, police said. Two of them were said to be in a serious condition.
The school, situated on Gaulkhed road, is run by Maharashtra Social Welfare and Social Justice Department where about 230 girl students, from Class V to IX, live and study.
Nikita More (from Lohara village) and Pranali Fundkar (from Andura) were in a serious condition, they said, adding that the two have been shifted to the civil hospital here.
Local MLC and senior BJP leader Pandurang Fundkar demanded a high-level inquiry and immediate suspension of officials responsible.
