A police sub-inspector (PSI) was arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 50,000 bribe, a top Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said today.
PSI Nivant Jadhav, who worked with the economic offence wing (EOW) of the Nashik City police, was arrested last evening while accepting the bribe, the official said.
According to the ACB official, Jadhav had demanded Rs 50,000 from the complainant, to drop his name from the supplementary chargesheet, which was to be filed in connection with an economic offence registered against him earlier this year.
A case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered and a probe is underway, the official added.
