There is a sigh of relief in Mizoram as the cyclone Mahasen, feared to hit the state last night, lost its speed before reaching the region.
This was informed by state Science and Technology Department Chief Scientific Officer Vanlalzara today.
The state government had earlier issued a warning after receiving the weather forecast and warnings from the Cyclone Warning Division of Indian Meteorological Department in Delhi.
All government schools in the hill state were closed since yesterday, while the private one remained closed since Wednesday.
