Accusing Punjab minster Bikram Singh Majithia of distorting the "Gurbani" while canvassing for BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley, the Congress today said he must be whiplashed in public for alleged blasphemy.
PCC spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira said,"Bikram Singh Majithia had altered the original composition by adding Jaitley's name in tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh's written hymn. This is disrespect to not only the religious composition but also to Guru Gobind."
Asked whether he will write to the Akal Takht, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs, he said "the Akal Takht jathedar should take suo motu cognisance of the issue, summon Majithia and punish him. But I will not write as I wish to see whether they will take any action against the politician.
