Communist Party of India (CPI) in Andhra Pradesh today asked the state government to make public the details of funds received from the Centre as well as citizens for the construction of new capital city Amaravati.
State unit secretary K Rama Krishna, in a press release issued here, said that he had found fault on the government's aim to entrust the work of capital construction on Singapore and Japanese companies.
The TDP government should make public details of funds received from the Centre and contribution made by people in the development of 'Amaravati', it said.
"Government is not considering the standards of Indian companies in the construction activity and it totally depends on foreign firms. The capital has to be constructed by us only with our firms and support of the Central government," Krishna said.

Meanwhile, the leader also demanded that government should check activities of 'Call Money' operators in the city and do justice with victims of 'Call Money Racket' that was busted yesterday.
Krishna demanded that stringent action should be taken against people involved in the racket.
Call Money operators in the city run money lending business at higher interest rates and often harass people who fail to repay the loan sum.
The CPI leader's demand comes in the wake of arrest of seven persons (operators) yesterday by the Vijayawada Police who ran Call Money business here and had lent loans to women. They allegedly forced women to indulge into immoral activities when they could not pay the loan amount.
"Government should reveal the names of politicians and officials directly involved in the call money business and others who provide funds for call money operators," Krishna said in a release.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang told reporters that a Special Task Force has been handed over the investigation into the racket.
If government fails to reveal the names of politicians and government officials involved in running such businesses and harassing people, CPI is ready to release the names with documented evidence, the release said.
