On the second death anniversary of AAP activist Santosh Koli, who had died following a road accident, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal today wrote to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav urging him to look into the present status of the case.
"I would like to bring to your attention the case of Santosh Koli, wherein a car had hit her on June 30 in 2013 and sped away in Kaushambi in Ghaziabad. This resulted in her death on August 7, 2013. Santosh was a fiery social activist, working painstakingly for the masses and had already been attacked nine times previously.
"There is a strong suspicion that her death was not an accident but was a deliberate attempt. I request you to kindly look into the present status of her case. I would be grateful to you if you could apprise me about the same," Maliwal said in her letter.
She has also written to the UP State Commission for Women over the same.
Maliwal along with three DCW members also paid tribute to the late Koli at her office.
AAP had given Koli the ticket to fight the polls from Seemapuri constituency. But the she met with the fatal accident on June 30.
Santosh was riding to the party office when a car rammed the two-wheeler from the back near Pacific Mall in Kaushambi in Ghaziabad and sped away. Santosh sustained severe brain injuries in the accident.
