West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed concern over "intolerance" and called for unity.
"Saddened that there is so much intolerance. Why so much divide and rule? Let us speak for unity, stand for unity. Let us act for unity," Banerjee tweeted.
In another tweet, she said, "Respectfully and completely agree with the sentiments expressed by Rastrapatiji today on unity in diversity and tolerance."
President Pranab Mukherjee today once again called for preserving the multiplicity and pluralistic character of the country and said India has thrived due to its power of assimilation and tolerance.
