It was raining heavily when she visited the reserved forest. On her way back from the forest, she stopped on the road to pat on the cheek of a tribal child who was coming with his mother.
Later she had a meeting with forest and administrative officials at Gachbari jungle resort.
"She took stock of the situation here," Jalpaiguri DFO Bidyut Sarkar told journalists.
She, however, did not speak with the journalists after the meeting.
