The incident had occurred on the night of January 5 when Jitender (30) along with his associate Gaurav had allegedly thrashed Keshav and shot at him after he tried to save a boy they were assaulting.
Police reached the spot on Vishnu Mandir Marg after receiving information about the shooting and shifted Keshav to Lady Hardinge Hospital.
Keshav told the police that he had tried to save a boy, Jadu, who was being thrashed by the accused. A case of attempt to murder was registered and investigation was taken up, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
