The accused, Mohd Shareef, was also booked under the provisions of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act, said the assistant commissioner of police K Ashok Chakravarthy.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim's mother, Shareef befriended her 15-year-old daughter only a month ago. On August 19, he promised to marry her at Gulbarga city in neighbouring Karnataka and took her there.
At Gulbarga, he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her in a hotel room, even though the girl objected and pleaded him to be taken back to Hyderabad.
The accused was also involved in several property cases and Arms Act violation cases, police said.
