Mahender Kumar, a resident of village Mankaya, was arrested for raping the girl on May 16.
According to a police complaint lodged by the victim's father, a resident of village Dhamoli, on May 16 the youth abducted his five-year-old daughter from his house while she was sleeping.
He said the youth took her in a field and raped her. He then dropped her near her house in the night. The girl was so afraid that she did not disclose the incident even to her mother.
Next day the child told her mother that an uncle had took her in the field where he raped her.
Medical examination of the victim confirmed rape.
