Jai Prakash was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police after a tip off. He was part of an inter-state gang of snatchers.
On August 16, a robbery was reported from a jewellery shop of Sector 16, Rohini, police said.
"Three robbers had entered the shop, Sandeep Jewellers, on the pretext of purchasing a gold chain. One Rajesh went inside while his two aides Jai Prakash and Ravinder waited for him outside.
"However, when the shop owner resisted the robbery bid, Jai Prakash went in and fired two shots leaving him grievously injured," said a police official.
