Man arrested for sodomising 8-year-old

A 40-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly sodomising a minor boy here, police said.
Arjun Eknath Pawar, a jobless man, allegedly sexually assaulted the eight-year-old boy several times over the last 3 to 4 months, said Sub-Inspector Rohidas Pawar of Dombivili Police Station.
Arjun, who resides in a slum colony in Krantinagar area, would often lure the boy, his neighbour, under the pretext of giving him chocolates and take him to his house, where he would sodomise him, the police officer said.
The victim told his parents about the repeated assaults after which a police complaint was lodged.
The accused has been booked under IPC Section 377 (unnatural offences) and also the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), 2012.
