Man arrested for swindling mobile phone distributor

A man has been arrested for allegedly swindling a person of 250 mobile phones, valued at around Rs 22 lakh, police said today.
Ajay Mohan, a distributor of mobile phones, in his police complaint said Kanhaiya lal Maheshwari, a native of Gangashahar at Bikaner in Rajasthan, took 250 cellphones, costing around Rs 22 lakh, from him for supplying these in the market, they said.
Neither did he supply the mobile phones in the market nor did he pay the amount to Mohan, police said.
Following the complaint, a probe was launched and the accused was arrested and Rs 1.5 lakh and one mobile phone was seized from him, they said.
During interrogation, Maheshwari confessed that he had also duped a private firm of around Rs 58 lakh and his landlady in Delhi of around Rs 44 lakh, police claimed.
