Man arrested with 2 'ashtadhatu' idols worth Rs 1.5 crore

One person was arrested with two 'ashtadhatu' idols, worth around Rs 1.5 crore, from Payagpur area here, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, Rajpal was yesterday arrested with the idols which were stolen from a temple in Gosai Purwa in Visheshwarganj last month, Superintendent of Police Neha Pandey said.
The estimated price of the two 'ashtadhatu' (a combination of eight metals) idols in international market is around Rs 1.5 crore, she said.
The accused was planning to smuggle them to Nepal, the SP added.
