A 38-year-old man allegedly killed his four-year-old child before committing suicide by hanging himself in Badshapur village, around eight kilometers from here.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajesh Kumar said that Devender's wife had complained to police a few days ago that his husband and their child Chirag were missing when Devender had gone to Chirag's school for depositing his school fees after which they did not return.
Gurgaon police kept searching for Devender tracking the location of his mobile phone as he kept his phone switched on and off according to his whims.
Tracking Devender's mobile phone, police today zeroed in an abandoned room in a field in Badshapur.
On reaching the spot, police found that Chirag's throat had been cut and the body was lying on one side of the room while Devender was found hanging.
Both the bodies were sent for post mortem, police said.
The ACP said that based on the crime scene it appears that Devender had first killed his son and then hanged himself.
The matter is being investigated, he said.
