A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after jumping into a nearly 150-feet deep dry well in the Bassi area of Jaipur, police said.
Owing to a domestic dispute, the man's wife, Mamta Meena (30), jumped into the well, following which her husband Gauri Shankar Meena (35) too decided to end his life, they said.
The man died due to serious injuries while the woman, who was injured, was admitted to the state-run SMS Hospital, Station House Officer Bassi police station Virendra Singh said.
The couple was lifted with the help of local villagers and civil defence force.
He said that the body of the man was handed over to the family members after post-mortem and the matter was registered under CrPc 174.
