Apparently upset over the gang-rape of his wife, a man allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well in Pilani town in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district today, police said.
The victim Pawan (46) took the extreme step after his wife lodged a complaint with the police yesterday about her being gang-raped by five persons in 2010.
The 40-year-old woman was gang-raped when his husband had gone out of the town in connection with some work, SHO Pilani Om Prakash said.
A case has been registered in this regard while the further probes are on, the SHO added.
