Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Kendrapara, Pritish Kumar Routray convicted Jatan Kumar Sethy for committing theft in Mahanadi-Chitrotpala irrigation sub-division office in Patkura way back on August 5, 1994.
The accused had attacked the office night watchman and had decamped with valuables then.
Based on the circumstantial evidence and cross examination of witnesses, the court pronounced the accused guilty under IPC sections 457 (house-trespass or house-breaking) and section 380 (theft), said Sanjay Jena, the prosecution counsel.
