Man critical after self immolation bid

A 35-year-old man sustained serious burn injuries today as he tried to immolate himself at Niryat Nigam Chowk crossing here after a heated altercation with his wife, police said.
The man, identified as Rashid, a labourer, had a heated exchange of words with his wife following which he pushed out of the house in anger and set himself ablaze after pouring kerosene oil, said Mahendra Singh Yadav, Superintendent of Police (City).
By the time locals rushed to save him, he sustained serious burn injuries. He was admitted to the district hospital where is condition was stated to be critical, Yadav said.
