According to police, Subhash Chandra was travelling by his SUV when six persons in a car came in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop.
One of the accused fired at Subhash with a pistol but missed the target. They then assaulted him with the butt of the pistol, and looted Rs 5,000 cash and his good locket before fleeing from the spot.
An FIR has been filed in this connection and a search for the accused has been initiated, police said.
