The incident took place at Khadra village near here on Friday. As per initial investigations, the deceased Latori Burman of Bahoriband tehsil had gone to a fair at Kua village. While returning home in an inebriated state, he fell on the road, which was under construction, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Kamla Joshi said.
A truck engaged in road construction work poured the hardening material on Burman in the night. Subsequently, the road roller ran over the road under which Burman got buried and died, she added.
Later they informed after which police dug out his body and sent it to post-mortem. His body was handed over to family members yesterday, police said.
A case under section 304(A) (causing death by negligence) has been registered against the truck driver and investigations are underway, the officer added.
