Man get 10 years jail, parents 7 in dowry death case

A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison while his parents were awarded seven-year jail term by a local court in a 2010 dowry death case in neighbouring Shravasti district.
Hearing the case yesterday, District Judge (Shravasti) Omprakash Agarwal awarded the jail terms to Kamlesh Kumar and his parents Ramkumar and Usha Devi.
Kamlesh with the help of his parents killed his wife Sushma on June 16, 2010 for dowry and then hanged her body from the ceiling of his house in Gilaula area in Shravasti.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs ten thousand each on all the convicts.
