Additional District Judge, Phulbani, Rajendra Kumar Tosh awarded the sentence to Bata Krushna Kanhar yesterday for the murder of a youth Bubi near the weekly market at Phiringia on August 20, 2013.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on Kanhar and in the event of failure to pay the amount he would have to undergo two months additional rigorous imprisonment.
On the basis of an FIR, a case was registered and Kanhar and Madan were arrested and sent to jail. Madan died in the jail on November 9 last after a brief illness.
