Police said Neeraj allegedly killed the woman following an argument and sprinkled some inflammable material on her face so that she could not be recognised.
The accused had befriended the woman while working at a factory and the two were in a relationship from past several months, police said.
According to the police, the accused killed the woman Monday night and later dumped the body in Muhana area.
Police began a probe after its control room received a call informing about a body being spotted in area.
