Man held for hooch trade

A 74-year-old man was arrested for allegedly running country liquor without license at Nikirai in this district, an excise official said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the house of the liquor trader Ram Chandra Sethy was raided and hooch recovered on Friday, Excise Superintendent Purosottam Dharua said.
His relatives who were also involved in the illicit trade were absconding, he said.
The accused was later remanded to judicial custody.
