Man held for raping 58-yr-old woman, attacking her with razor:

A man allegedly raped a 58 -year-old woman and inflicted injuries on her private parts with a razor, the police said today.
The accused, Sukhlal Balavi (25), was arrested, said Newton police outpost in-charge Inspector Dipak Sonti Argulawar.
The incident took place last night under the Parasia police station area here, he added.
The officer said Balavi entered the thatched house of the victim in an inebriated condition and allegedly raped her.
The accused, who is unemployed, then allegedly inflicted injuries on the private parts of the woman with a razor, he added.
The woman, a construction labourer, lived alone in the house.

The police took the woman to the district hospital after they were informed about the incident, the inspector said.
Acting on a complaint filed by the woman, the police arrested the accused today, he added.
The accused has been booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the officer said.
