The gang had looted more than Rs two crore from different banks, police said.
A spokesman of the police department said that during a night domination campaign carried out by district police Rohtak yesterday, information was received about some persons roaming near the branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce at Kisangarh village.
Acting on the tip off, a police team reached the spot and arrested one accused identified as Sunil, resident of Chathra village in Sonipat.
The other accused escaped under the cover of thick fog.
They were allegedly also involved in bank robberies in Sonipat and Rewari, and had looted Rs 1.22 crore from a bank in Saiydpur village in Sonipat. They had also allegedly looted Rs 81 lakh from a bank in Rewari, police said.
Police have also recovered one walkie-talkie set from Sunil's possession, besides recovering a car bearing registration number, a drill machine, hammer, and other weapons used by the accused, from the spot.
Investigation is underway and a manhunt is being carried out to find the other accused and recover the looted money, police said.
