Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel have seized charas worth over Rs 7 crore and arrested one person in this connection, an official said today.
Acting on a tip-off, an SSB team arrested 30-year-old Mehmood Miyan late last night at the Indo-Nepal border and seized 78 packets - each containing 500 grams of the contraband - from his possession, Deputy Commandant Amit Kumar said.
Mehmood, who is a resident of the neighbouring district of West Champaran, has been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau after preliminary interrogation, the Deputy Commandant said.
The contraband was worth Rs 7.30 lakh in the international market, he added.
