Ram Chandra Sharma was injured in the explosion that took place when he opened a polythene bag hanging in his shop, Superintendent of Police Onkar Singh said.
The injured was rushed to the hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable.
A team of experts will visit the village to ascertain the nature of explosive, Singh said.
