The injured has been identified as Prashant Pathak, a resident of Noida Sector 12.
He was last seen waiting for a train at platform number 3 (towards Noida/Vaishali) at Rajiv Chowk around 5.45 PM, said a senior police official, adding that Pathak suddenly jumped on the tracks, in front of an approaching train.
However, Pathak sustained severe injuries on his shoulder and is presently admitted at RML Hospital, said DCP (Metro) Jitender Mani.
No suicide note was recovered from the spot or from Pathak's possession. What made him take the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, the official added.
