The incident took place last night around 7 PM in Pali district here, when Mishrilal, a farmer, demanded money from his wife Sarki Devi(45) to buy liquor, which she refused to give. This lead to a heated argument between the couple, Rohat Sita Ram, SHO said.
Later, Mishrilal hit his wife with a sharp-edged weapon leaving her dead in a pool of blood, SHO said.
After killing his wife, the man left the house and committed suicide by jumping into the well near his house in Kerla village, he said.
The couple had two daughters and as many sons who were sleeping in the house when the incident occurred, he added.
